Should You Let Go of Your Past?

Some say you have to let go of your past to have a future. But is that true? Find out what Melody Brooke has to say about this. Keep reading below.

“The past explains how I got here, but the future is up to me — and I love to live life at full throttle.”

~ Janice Dickinson ~

Can We Change the Way We Respond by Changing the Way We Feel?

I see many memes about how you “should” let go of your past as if that were even possible.

Our past is recorded in our fascia, it lives in our bodies, in our neurons, in our aura. Whether we allow ourselves to know it our not it affects every choice we make, every behavior we express.

Only by allowing ourselves to know it’s unconscious meaning, how we made sense of it as a child, can we truly know ourselves and change the way we feel and respond.

But we do have to allow ourselves to know it, to feel it, to understand how we dealt with it, in order to fully know who we are and why we do what we do.

It is essentially loving ourselves enough to spend time with our broken and wounded selves and offer ourselves the self empathy required for healing. It’s not something we can do alone, we must have trusted companions on that path. Find your person, or persons to help guide you. You are not alone.
